OTTOMAN STREET

In the area described, there are narrow streets where back in the day Muslims and non-Muslims lived together in houses known as "Talas Houses." These houses typically have one or two floors and are characterized by their original architecture, which includes a large room called a sofa and an architectural structure that connects to the bedroom (harem) and kitchen (tokana). Ali Saip Paşa Street and Gölbaşı Square, where 60 historical houses and mansions can be found, have been renovated and restored to serve as a tourist attraction. Currently some of the houses have been renovated as cafes with live music most nights and vast menus ranging from teas to shishas.
