It is known that the ruler of Danişment, Melik Mehmed Gazi, died on January 6, 1143 and was buried in his tomb in the complex he had built. The pointed arched entrance door in the middle of the tomb, which is dated to the first quarter of the 12th century, is recessed into the façade. The building was built adjacent to the middle of the south façade of the Great Mosque, which was also built by Melik Mehmet Gazi. The courtyard of the tomb, which is below the level of the pavement, is accessed by stairs.
Melik Mehmed Gazi Tomb was built in a rectangular plan in the north-south direction.
