CLOCK TOWER

The clock tower was built by “Tavlusunlu Salih Usta” in 1906 with the order of II. Abdülhamit and the support of Kayseri Governor Haydar Bey. The rectangular space next to it was built as a clock room. The tower, which is 15 meters high, is accessed by spiral stairs. During the National Independence War, it was used as the Kayseri Branch of the Anatolian and Rumelian Defense of Rights Association. There is a rectangular opening in the pointed pyramidal cone that closes the tower and there is a clock bell inside it.

The building, which was built of cut stone, is divided into three sections with cross-arranged moldings. There are circular openings arranged for the clock on each façade of the upper section.
