ARROW BASTION (OK BURCU)

Arrow Bastion, which is a part of the walls surrounding the Inner Castle and the Seljuk Palace and the State House, is located in the northeast of the Kayseri Castle. It is understood from the inscription on the part of the castle next to the bastion that this part was built by the Anatolian Seljuk State Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad I in 1224. The second floor of the original two-storey bastion has not survived. The building, which was restored by the Chamber of Architects in 2005, has a usage area of approximately 200 square meters. Today, the bastion is used by the Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality for cultural purposes.

The space arrangement of the bastion was made in a cross vault consisting of four iwans in a cruciform plan.
