The Zawiyas was built in the second quarter of the 13th century. With its plan scheme with four iwans opening to its courtyard, the Zawiya complies with the central site plan that has been applied since Central Asia. The zawiyah is also important in that it is one of the first examples of zawiyas in this architectural plan. Architectural details of the building, such as the main walls, door and window jambs, and arches, are made of smooth stone, while the transition elements to the dome above the central courtyard are made of brick. The building is Turkey's first artisan museum.
In the Ahi Evran Zawiyas, Turkey's first artisan museum, leather finishing stone and other local goods belonging to Ahi Evran are exhibited.
